Unit two, teaching and learning, shows the advantages and disadvantages to teaching adults, both individually and in groups. There was a review (from the TEFL course) of the ESA approach as well as other approaches that have been/are used in teaching. The skills of reading, writing, speaking, and listening are also addressed. What have I learned from this unit? I found the explanation of ESA helped me understand the different approaches better and, more importantly for me personally, I realized that the topics covered in this unit have made me question what exactly I would like to do with my certifications in TEFL and CTBE. I am not sure if I wish to target groups or individuals, based upon the advantages and disadvantages of each. A very interesting unit - I was given quite a bit to consider.
