This unit provided helpful information about introducing new language to students. I learned how the straight E-S-A approach is best for teaching vocabulary and grammar and the other class structures can work best for teaching functions. The activities shared for each phase of the lesson gave me many good ideas for the classroom. The task sheet, too, allowed me to create lesson plans and put all that I learned in this module to work.This unit deals with recognising and classifying different parts of English grammar.
I found this unit challenging but very useful, as I have avoided trying to explain aspects of grammar in the past to students through lack of knowledge. The module clearly breaks-down, identifies, and explains the different grammar elements in a straightforward manner, than will enable me to more confidently explain grammar to students in the future.
