This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit dealt with the seven future tenses: simple; continuous; perfect; perfect continuous; \"going to\" future; present simple; and present continuous. Each of these tenses expresses the future in different, but somewhat similar ways. This unit gave me yet another glimpse into how easily a native speaker uses these grammar points without even thinking about it, and also how difficult it is to articulate the usages and shades of distinction between them. Of particular note is the use of present tenses to express future intent, as compared with use of future simple. While both imply future intent, future simple is used more for something happening at an indistinct (or known) point in the future, where present simple gives a greater degree of specificity and intent for the future action.
