Unit seven introduces some of the important areas of focusing on when teaching a new language. Of course, the lexicon/ vocabulary is important and there are certain factors to understand when deciding which vocabulary to teach and what exactly needs to be taught about the words in order for the students to have a clear idea of how to receive and produce the new language. When students have a good knowledge about some of the newly learned vocabulary, it's important to use those words in context as well. Therefore, the teacher must also clearly explain the grammatical structures of the language. Finally, the unit talks about the importance of language functions, which was a new way of thinking for me. I didn't know things such as inviting, agreeing, and so on were classified as language functions.
