In this unit I got an overview of how the future is spoken of in the english language. As usual there were the main four areas, the future simple, the future continuous, the future perfect, and the future perfect continuous. We also explored three other future oriented areas, the be going + infinitive, the present simple, and the present continuous. As per usual I learned the form and uses of each tense, as well as typical student errors, and ways to teach each tense. There were more song suggestions for teaching some tenses, which I liked, as I will enjoy incorporating various forms of media in my classes. Finally, I learned that the be going to tense is often confused with the future simple, and that these two tenses are often taught at the same time to help students appreciate the difference.
