This unit was a broad explanation of common grammar principals, primarily the standard parts of speech. Verbs, nouns, pronouns, etc. were all discussed and examples of each were given, along with variations of those words depending on their placement and usage within the sentence. This chapter served as a refresher course for myself, and I believe anyone desiring to become an English educator benefits from these sort of reminder exercises. When you have been raised speaking English you can easily recognize when a word sounds incorrect, but I think it is easy to forget why that word is incorrect. That is a question that will be asked of us while we teach. To be able to explain why, without simply saying \"that's just the way it is\" will help secondary speakers grasp a more complete understanding.
