Aptly designated as the first unit in this course (or any other TEFL/TESOL course for that matter) the ‘teachers and learners’ unit lays the groundwork for the commencement and maintenance of a prosperous learning environment, by prepping aspiring and experienced teachers alike on the first fundamentals of the reciprocal teaching-learning process. As someone who has been teaching for quite some time now, I found this unit to be both a basic affirmation of what I have done so far and a blueprint of what I must continue to focus on in the future, in order to further solidify my station within the andragogical process and launch my students into new heights of language proficiency. In a word or two, ‘progress is knowing thy pupils not just thy self’ is my takeaway from this unit.
