This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In Unit 6, I learn about the past tense and its forms, usages, common mistakes or errors, and sample teaching ideas during activate class time. The past tense relates to past time period and has four different forms-- past simple, past continuous, past perfect, and past perfect continuous tense.
The past simple form is used for actions completed at a definite time in the past. The past continuous form nearly always requires some form of time reference unless referring to the gradual development usage. The past perfect form is “the past in the past†and is the past equivalent to the present perfect. The past perfect continuous form has one major use-- that is to talk about longer actions in the past that had been going on continuously up to the moment we are thinking about a situation.
