Managing a class is more complex than it seemed especially with non English speaking students however when it is done with confidence and knowledge it can run very smoothly. Some things I learnt and have to consider are physical features like eye contact, gestures, voice and if these are used the right way can be very effective. Grouping students can be done through all sorts of ways but I feel the key is to always mix it around so that it is not done the same way all the time. Getting a feel of the classroom and dynamics will help to organise in terms of seating arrangements and depending on the some features will help decide how to deliver the lesson. I need to remember that teaching English I will still face behavioural problems, assessing the problem and dealing with it wisely is what matters.
