While studying this unit, I have reflected on the varying role of teachers in the classroom, the need to strike a balance between those roles (for example, not to always act as the manager but to also act as facilitator, prompter and monitor).
I have reflected on the differences, problems and positive aspects of learners in different age groups and at different learning levels. For example, beginners will show progress quickly, but advanced learners may feel that they have begun to plateau. Young learners may be enthusiastic but have short attention spans.
I have also reflected on what constitutes a good teacher and a good learner. For example, a good teacher should be patient and have good rapport with the students. Learners should be willing to ask questions and should want to learn and improve.
