This unit taught us the different types of speech. We not only learned the general categories of each part of speech (nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc.), but how each of these different categories could be divided in to more specific parts with more particular traits.
I am personally interested in the distinction between transitive and intransitive verbs. I have always understood this distinction in the sense that I could recite the definition of each, but have always had problems with specific examples provided. In this section, for example, we were told that the sentence \"He went to school\" is a sentence that contains no object. However, to my sensibilities \"school\" does seem like an object. I would have enjoyed a more in depth explanation of what constitutes a verb phrase in order to clear this up.
