This unit spoke a lot about vocabulary and how to select the vocabulary to teach, what the students need to know and the different techniques in teaching them. How some vocabulary will be easier to learn and remember than others and why, and to keep in mind the language level of the class. Selecting vocabulary should depend on appropriacy to the student or task, or how likely the students are to use or come across the language. The unit focused on introducing and teaching grammatical structures and language functions. I learnt how much more there is to learning a vocabulary item and how much more there is to think about when teaching the students, and that grammatical structures can vary when they are written and spoken . It was also good to practise planning different lessons using the ESA structure.
