Reviewing the parts of speech was a very good exercise because proper speaking and writing is required to be proficient in English. When students comprehend the importance of a proper speech is easy to help them. For example, if you can compare two persons, things or objects in a correct way it is more enjoyable to listen and to speak. Expressing and communicating in the right way says a lot about ourselves.This unit was short, but focused on receptive skills. It divided the motives (purpose and entertainment) for using receptive skills and examples of each. The most interesting thing that I learned in this unit was using authentic texts versus non authentic texts. Although a text may be exciting to show students, it may not present the type of language they are learning or the level of difficulty could be off.
