I have learnt how to structure lessons based upon teaching receptive skills. These skills should be taught through interesting subjects that are varied to suit different students interests. They should also be at a suitable level which exposes students to some new vocabulary, however the majority is known by students to encourage their learnings. Pre-teaching unknown or difficult vocabulary will make this less threatening to students.In this unit I learned that the variation in volume and pitch within an entire sentence is intonation and that the normal pattern of intonation in a sentence is rise/fall. I also learned the the penultimate syllable in a word with four syllables or more is the second to last syllable. I learned about linking, sound dropping, sound changing extra lettering. That teaching techniques for pronunciation include tongue twisters and models.
