This section focused on teaching the receptive skills reading and listening. These are different then the more productive skills of speaking and writing and are equally important. The unit focused on the different reasons one might be using receptive skills and how the purpose of the skill being used can affect how to teach it. This unit also showed an example of an ESA lesson where we can teach listening skills to students.The content of this unit is very important to master, mainly the explanation of the usage of different past tenses. In my experience, it takes quite a while for a non-native English speaker to learn to use the correct past tense, even when they are on quite a high level in their English studies. Besides learning the past tenses as a \"piece of grammar\", it is probably also important to listen to English as much as possible.
