This unit went over the basics of English grammar including parts of speech (nouns, adjectives, verbs, etc) and the most notable rules associated with them. While I already had a fairly good understanding of English grammar (due to many linguistics courses), this unit was useful in that it outlined particular rules that I was not aware of, being a native speaker who does not have to mentally check my own grammar. This unit brought more attention to rules of English grammar that I most likely would not have known how to explain easily, such as the difference between possessive pronouns and possessive adjectives. Overall, it was good to get a refresher of the basic parts of speech and some common ways of explaining them, as well as the common rules that students should know to guide them in their production.
