This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit teaches about managing a classroom. It talks about making eye contact, having gestures, and using your voice as a teacher in a productive way with the students. It also talks about the different ways in which you can group the students and the pros and cons of grouping the students in that particular way. The seating of the students is also an important factor as well as where you as the teacher stands is something to consider as well because you do not want to come off too dominating to the class. These are all things that I would not have normally thought of had it not have been brought up as a lesson so I found it very interesting to learn. I thought it was also really interesting to learn about how to handle the discipline and to understand how writing on the board can produce a dead time.
