This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In this unit I learned a lot about how important managing a classroom is and how to use proper eye contact (too much, too little), writing on the board, siting vs standing for the teacher, and using gestures and simple language so everyone understands you. How student seating and grouping helps student learning, motivation and focus. As well as how to properly go about maintaining class discipline. This unit gave me a layout that I will be able to use to plan my future English lessons. I learned how to plan each stage of activities: engage, study, and activate. I learned about time allocation and how flexible I should be with the lessons structure. It is important to keep a log of the reactions of the students to the lesson, to make sure they are both enjoying it and learning the material.
