This unit discussed the pros and cons of using authentic materials and of created materials. It also discussed what a teacher should look for in choosing authentic material and how to use a syllabus/course book in the classroom. The teacher should be looking at ways to supplement and modify the authentic materials to meet the needs of the class they are teaching.This unit helps me to see the importance of using various methodology and techniques to cater for the students needs. It is important to make the lesson as interesting and as stimulating as possible so the students can be more involved in the language usage. Hence the ESA methodology is best suited for teaching and learning for a greater benefit for the learners.
