This unit covers the different types of groups that might be taught English: beginners, individuals, young learners, business English classes, and also discusses monolingual and multilingual classes. It discusses the different characteristics of these groups and how the teacher might approach their lessons, as well as mentioning problems specific to them. I found the information about business English classes particularly useful since I have had no experience in this area, and in fact had not been aware that businesses might run English classes. Task 7 of the Task Sheet asked for a lesson plan for teaching a class of 7 year olds - over the years I have had experience working in a variety of ways with children, and I think that this is an area that I would particularly enjoy when it comes to teaching English.
