This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit covered conditionals and reported speech and the proper formation of each. Again, this is something that native speakers do no think about they just say it. I found the teaching ideas useful because they caused me to think about it. The conditionals explained were zero, first, second and third and the differences between them. Although they all started with an \"if\" statement, they were used in different ways. For example, the zero conditional is used for facts whereas the second conditional refers to a hypothetical situations. Reported speech is fairly self explanatory in that it is speech that you are reporting that someone else said. It is not a direct quote. These can be quite confusing for English language learners especially when modified for backshifting, where the present becomes the past.
