This unit definitely had me thinking! It's funny how we become so accustomed to our own languages that we almost forget the nitty gritty of the language itself! It gave me a good idea of how difficult it might be to portray this information to a non-native English speaker. It really went into nice detail on how deep present tenses can go, and how to properly use them. Another great source of information regarding the English language. This unit is about teaching productive skills which are speaking and writing. It exposes the reasons why writing is neglected compared to speaking and gives examples of activities and other ways to effectively engage students throughout an ESL lesson. I foubd rhe distinction between accuracy and fluency goals and activities very useful as it is common to get caught up in the overall activity and disregard these particular objectives.
