The unit tells us what receptive skills are and how to teach them using different listening and reading techniques, such as skimming, scanning, etc. Furthermore, unit 11 gives information about problems students may have and how to minimize them. Apart from all this important information, I learnt how to choose listening and reading tasks in a right way. To sum it up, I'd like to say that it was both informative and enjoyable reading.This lesson helped me understand the different type of tests that students can take. How you present a test and the layout and timing of the test can really encourage or discourage students. Taking tests often frighten students and cause them to stress out but by making a stress free test that still asses the students progress is both beneficial for the students and yourself as it will help the classes confidence and success later on.
