This lesson went a lot more in-depth with the phases of the lesson, and I've learned to better distinguish what kinds of activities should be used for each phase. From what I've read and tested in this unit, I realize that I was having trouble distinguishing between the engage and the study phase. With engage, sometimes it seems like there are activities, such as brainstorming animal vocabulary, that could also fit in the study phase. However, since reviewing the lesson and taking the test, I've been better able to distinguish that brainstorming is more of a loose, open activity, not designed to teach anything specific, and then study would be to have the children set a goal for specific animal name memorization. The forms and lesson handout examples I also found helpful and valuable to creating a lesson plan.
