This unit discussed classroom materials and how they are best used in the classroom setting. More specifically, it provided a basic outline of visual and other aides such as computers, video cameras, overhead projectors, dictionaries, and various websites that can be useful for teaching English in the classroom.
That having been said, what I found to be the most crucial lesson of this unit is that while there are many materials that can indeed be useful for teaching English to non-native speakers, all of these have theır own individual weaknesses and should not be overused. İf, for instance, a teacher is utilizing dictionaries in the classroom, it is important to use them as little as possible, as the students should not become overly-dependent upon direct translation for learning all of their vocabulary.
