Watching both videos showed how different a class can turn out based on the attitude of the teacher and the organization of the lesson. In the first video, the teacher seems uninterested in teaching and does not attempt to make the lesson interesting, which shows as the students not participating. The teacher also does not take the time to explain concepts, has his back turned to the class when speaking, and does not assist or help the students. In the second video, the teacher is much more engaged. He learns the students' names and is very active throughout the class. Therefore, the students are much more engaged in the class and are willing to participate. He also effectively utilizes pair work to get students talking. Additionally, he uses several techniques to elicit responses such as pictures and gestures.
