I learned about the functions of a lesson plan, and what to keep in mind when writing one, including keeping it simple, leaving room for flexibility and changes to the plan, maintaining a consistent structure, and writing the anticipated time necessary for each activity. I learned how to keep a lesson plan organized, and also what to include in one: the learner objectives, personal aims, the language point being taught, any anticipated problems with solutions, and details on who is interacting with whom, among other things. I saw an example lesson plan and self-evaluation form that could be used to monitor how the lessons are being delivered. Finally, I learned about how to plan a sequence of lessons to maintain flexibility, incorporate and push solid goals for the students, and keep a balance of skills intact.
