This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Modal auxiliary verbs add meaning to verbs. Usually they convey obligation, ability to, levels of certainty and necessity. Unlike other verbs, these do not change form with the subject e.g. \"he can sing\" \"we can sing\". The passive voice is used when the focus is not on who did what i.e. the doer of the verb but rather, the focus is placed on what was done. Relative clauses add meaning to the independent clause. Sometimes the information given in the relative clause is vital to the meaning of the sentence, other times omission of this clause does not change the meaning of it. Phrasal verbs refer to phrases used as verbs in a sentence. These can be very confusing to students and should be taught as vocabulary and practiced bit by bit throughout the course to familiarize students with more common phrasal verbs.
