This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit focuses on the past tenses. It talks about the different uses of each tense and gives a few non-specific ways to teach them. It also highlights a few common student errors. I think that it should have talked more about the past tense pronunciation problems, as I find this to be the biggest problem that students have with these tenses. Perhaps that will also be covered in a later unit.I liked this unit because it gives teachers more to think about when trying to decide if they should use course books or not. It was also helpful seeing the different types of creative materials one could use when coming up with a lesson plan. It doesnt chastise you for trying to think out of the box. The unit allowed me to distinguish what type of materials I would want to use in my classroom.
