In this unit, I learned about teaching productive skills which are speaking and writing. I learned about the difference between accuracy (concentrated on producing best language) and fluency activities (concentrated on allowing students to experiment and be creative with language. I learned about the three types of speaking activities (Controlled activities, Guided activities, and Creative Communication.It is definitely important to tailor the methods of evaluation to the students' skill level. If testing is too easy, they might think they won't have to try for future evaluations, and if it's too hard, they might lose motivation and confidence. It is also important for the teachers to know if what they are doing in the classroom is working or not, and what they can do to help out each individual student.
