This unit has taught me the importance of being a teacher, and how much we as teachers determine whether or not the student is successful. I see now, how vital it is to use the roles learned well so that we give our students the best chance for success. We must use these roles to organize and encourage our students. It has also taught me the many different factors that affect the students ability to learn. Not only that, but the challenges that come with each of those factors. Like age, adult learners may have more motivation than young learners do, but their learning history may strongly affect how they view teaching methods and their belief in their own ability to succeed. Where as, young learners may have a lack of motivation but not have such fixed views of learning that may affect their progress negatively.
