In Unit 15 I have learned that there are various types of tests used for different purposes when learning English as a foreign language. Each test has a specific purpose and could be used before beginning a course, for example, or throughout the course to gauge progress. I learned about some of the different external examinations that are recognized at universities, colleges, businesses and by governments.The final unit covered several practical aspects of teaching, from building rapport with students to dealing with learners' difficulties including reluctance, speaking their native language in the classroom, and poor listening ability. This unit has provided me with excellent strategies to assist my students, especially at the junior high school level where attention spans are short and reluctance is high.
