In this unit teachers learn how to teach language. Depending on the needs of the students, appropriacy to the lesson, frequency, coverage, and teachability new vocabulary can be introduced to learners without much difficulty. Teachers can follow the different ESA class flows when it comes to teaching grammar structures. Regarding grammar structures teachers must convey the meaning, usage, forms and patterns spoken and written forms to students. The unit also introduced language functions with a very useful ESA boomerang type lesson. This unit really lays down the groundwork for teaching a typical ESL lesson. I especially benefited from the example lessons using various ESA class flows. The information puts into perspective what the students need from each type of lesson giving me an idea how to approach lesson building.
