The two videos in this unit allowed me to observe a stark contrast in the teaching methods presented by the teacher. In the first video, the teacher appeared to be condescending and rude towards the students. As a result, the students did not seem interested at all. Also, the teacher lacked humor and charisma. However, in the second video, the students are more receptive to the teacher. The teacher asks the students their names, remembers their names and enthusiastically engages the students. The teacher is much more animated. For me, I learned teaching methods that will certainly help me on my path to becoming a teacher and conversely, methods for me to refrain from that would have an adverse effect in the classroom for English learners.
