This unit highlights the importance of the teachers? attitude, knowledge of the students level and sequence of the lesson. In the first video the teacher just started without explaining anything to the students. He used terminology that the students have not been introduced to and he keeps on saying it?s very easy. He made the students feel uncomfortable and stupid. He looked like he just wanted the lesson to end, he didn?t seem to have any structure. In the second lesson the teacher started the more openly, introducing himself and asking the students names. The students automatically felt more relaxed and comfortable. He also had a clear lesson plan and structure that he followed.
I have learnt that the teachers? attitude is of utmost importance to the success of a lesson and the teacher should have a clear structure and approach during the lesson. Be prepared and make the students feel comfortable!
