Unit 9 covers the lesson planning process. Lesson plans are used as tools to aid planning, keep organized and as a record for future reference. Self assessment and weighing the pros and cons of each lesson is essential to future success in the classroom. Maintaining organization and a fluid work order streamlines learning in the classroom and makes the most out of time availability. However, the lesson plan is a guideline, NOT a limitation. The best rules for writing a lesson plan are: keep it simple, keep the time, keep a theme. However it?s important to check or at least mentally address each of the topics included in the ?What should be included in a lesson plan? section and for the most success, know your students. When planning a sequence of lesson plans make sure to incorporate flexibility, goals, revisions and variety/balance.
