This unit was an expansion on the grammar of English. Modal Auxiliary Verbs, which are a set of words that add meaning to the main verb were introduced and explained. They are used in conjunction with other verbs to express different ideas such as requests, obligations, permissions, and etc. Passive and Active voices were also introduced. In passive voice, the object of an active verb becomes the subject of the passive verb, whereas in the passive voice the agent is much less important. Although they convey the same message, the way they are used gives a different descriptions with emphasis on different things. Relative clauses and Phrasal verbs were also introduced. They are different groups of words arranged in such a way to convey different types of message. All the materials in this section are a more in depth study of English and the teacher should come up with an effective lesson plan to teach such material
