The unit provides yet again a well-structured approach to teaching a new language, this time from a more holistic perspective looking at three main parts: vocabulary, grammar and functions. It explains the parameters which need to be taken into consideration when selecting new material, which elements need to be taught for its proper usage and how to pass on the knowledge. I appreciated a lot the explanation on teaching functions of a new language since I find it very practical. In addition, it is great to see how the information from previous units becomes relevant and helpful, like for example the ESA structure.
