This unit has been a good overview of classroom management. It was helpful to learn the different seating arrangements in a classroom and how they might be used to advantage. Also, it was helpful to learn about some common reasons for discipline issues, as well as ideas on how to decrease the incidence of these. Different kinds of student grouping is also important in the classroom. If you want to make sure the students are more focused on the teacher, orderly rows or a circle/horseshoe may be best. For group work, groups sitting around tables would be advantageous. Pair work or individual work also have their place in the classroom.
