Unit 15 looked at different ways of evaluating and testing student levels and progress. There are several ways to assess student language levels (i.e. tutorials, student evaluations, and tests). In regards to tests, examinations are provided at different stages in a course. For example, a placement test is provided at the start of assist in formation of groups with students of the same level; diagnostic tests used to inform the teacher and student what one does and does not know at the beginning of the course; progress test given periodically through a written test may be applied to observe if students are absorbing and progressing with course material.
