Proper classroom management by the teacher is essential to creating an effective learning environment for students. While the particular personality of a teacher (such as whether they are an extrovert or introvert) will not necessarily impact their ability to manage their class, it is very important that they are able to encourage and motivate students to learn, adapt their teaching style to play a more or less dominant role (depending on the particular scenario), and maintain discipline over the class while having good rapport with their students. Furthermore, the teacher needs to carefully consider, and engage with, the many factors which can influence students' ability to learn. For example, a teachers' use of eye contact, gestures and voice projection and level; delivery of instructions; and consideration of the individual needs and characteristics of their students, can all play a positive role in helping students engage and learn. However, when a teacher disregards the importance of such factors, and when they do not work to build a good rapport with their students which effectively balances discipline and respect, the students are unlikely to receive the best learning experience.
