The unit demonstrates two considerably different samples of lessons. It can be clearly seen that the teacher's attitude is of a paramaount importance for conducting an engaging and efficient lesson. Intrinsically, the more positive and gentle the teacher will be during the lesson the more perceptive students will be. Concerning grammar explanatinon and giving instructions it is evident that they should be as much concise and clear as possible. It is better to use a simple language to introduce new concepts and encourage students' pair work to improve their participation and understanding..This unit is very helpful for an inexperienced teacher, as myself. The guidelines/tips for the first lesson provides the teacher with confidence to go about their first classroom encounter as a teacher.
The number of students in a class and the different levels of English proficiency might make it difficult for the teacher. The guidelines may come in handy but the decision lies with the teacher, thus the teacher needs to observe the class and how they respond.
Although some issues within the classroom might arise unexpectedly, this unit highlights the most common (I assume) difficulties.
