The unit covers the fundamentals of teaching receptive skills. Reading and listening plays a big roll in the teaching of a foreign language which largely depends on the purpose and situation of reading or the listening. Their are different types of readings and it is important for the learners to know which skill applies at a given scenario. Types of receptive skills could include skim reading, predictive skills, deduction from texts and scan reading.
The unit carefully teaches one to identify and look out for the different receptive skills while teaching the foreign language, it helped me to re-visit pass knowledge
