This unit focused on the role and types of English tests. As tests are an inevitable part of English education, this unit explained the different types of tests that can be used to help teachers and students. It first defined the different types of tests and then provided a description of the advantages, roles and components of each test. The unit also provided an example placement test for the readers to examine.
After defining the types of tests teachers use, the unit went on to explain some of the international English exams. Next to each test?s acronym, it provided the definition of the exam. It also described where, how, and to whom it is given. This is very useful information as you may encounter students and community members preparing for these exams. It?s important to understand the exams they will take to better help them prepare. Overall this was a very informative and helpful unit.
