This unit covered the use of course books when teaching. It discussed both the advantages and disadvantages of using course books, and also ways to determine how one should choose to utilize these course books in the teaching process. It mentions that the use of course books must be adaptable. For example, the teacher can choose to omit the course book, replace certain parts of the book, and adjust it their needs in a variety of ways. That adaptability seemed to be the main theme being emphasized by this unit. I think that this is very helpful, especially if I do end up with the freedom to choose my own course book for my class in the future.
