When I was studying Japanese at university we were expected to bring our own learning aids, such as dictionaries, rather than having them supplied for us. While I believe this was an overall positive decision as each student had access to a dictionary as needed rather than having to share, I still believe that, as touched upon in this chapter, having a classroom set of certain learning aids is probably a good decision. Furthermore, I thought it was interesting that many slightly older technologies, such as cassettes, are still being employed in language learning. However, after thinking about it I believe it is probably positive, as having a wide variety of tools to make use of in the classroom will help keep students engaged.
