Unit eleven covers receptive language skills: specifically, reading and listening skills are discussed. After introducing the two reasons for reading and listening, either for a purpose or for entertainment, this unit examines these skills in further detail. Predictive skills, scanning, skimming, detailed information, and deduction capabilities are explained are explained. The most useful part of the lesson for me personally, however, was the section on overcoming reading and listening difficulties. By factoring in these measures when planning a lesson, I hope to address most challenges to receptive skill development before they arise.
