The 17th unit covered teaching equipment and aids. These include the use of black boards and white boards, interactive whiteboards, overhead projectors, visual aids, worksheets and work cards, cassette recorders, CD players, videos and DVDs, video camera, dictionaries, course books, resource books, photocopiers, computers and online resources. It must be noted that all board work be planned and organized. Similarly, the use of electronic equipment needs to be planned and rehearsed to ensure a smooth class flow. Video cameras are a great way to allow students to evaluate their performance, while visual aids are useful for explaining language points and capturing student interest. The unit also listed a plethora of online resources useful or both teachers and students.
