Unit 7 discussed different ideas of teaching vocabulary, grammar, and language functions using the ESA teaching method. From my experience in learning Spanish as a second language, learning vocabulary was the most intriguing and enjoyable. Although I am not sure which approach of ESA the professor used, I know for a fact that she did utilize the ESA method in teaching us English-speakers. We used many of the engage, study, and activate activities listed in this unit. My favorite study activity when we studied for a test were the crosswords because it challenged my brain to really think and understand the vocabulary; therefore, I do plan to try out the crosswords with my own students and see the feedback from them.
