Various types of tests and reasons behind taking/giving them are shown in this unit. They are divided into categories based on the purposes for taking them. We need to take in consideration when it is most appropriated to use which test and what our class aims are. If the students had taken the course in order to be able to sit for an external examination, then we would have to put a great care in preparing useful practice tests that would match up the structure of the given external exam. It is sometimes necessary to devise our own progress test, but refering to various resource books, or unused excercises from test books might help us to create a good balanced test. This unit has shown me a great variety of exams and tests available, which may be required either by the school or even be desired by the students themselves, wanting to progress.
